Our facilities, located in Graz, Austria, include advanced laboratories and pilot plants equipped for continuous processing, analytical characterization, and quality control, ensuring we can address even the most demanding challenges in drug development and manufacturing – up to OEB4 level!
Our facilities and laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from all major manufacturers, allowing us to replicate your setup or advise you on the optimal solutions when selecting and implementing new equipment or processes.

Our team of over 150 permanent staff members brings together expertise from pharmaceutical and mechanical engineering, pharmacy, life science, chemistry, physics and computer sciences. This diversity fosters a unique synergy of perspectives and methods, enabling us to deliver rapid, innovative solutions for our partners’ unique challenges. Our team is a dynamic mix of young academics and seasoned professionals with both industry and research experience, ensuring both fresh ideas and a high level of professionalism. Beyond solving your technical challenges, we are dedicated to advancing the education of scientists and experts by offering PhD and Master thesis opportunities aligned with real industry needs.
Unique Structure and Independence
RCPE’s ownership structure is unique: we are a private, non-profit company jointly owned by Graz University of Technology (49%), the University of Graz (36%), and non-university, public research organization Joanneum Research GmbH (15%). This ensures our complete independence from the pharmaceutical industry and positions us as a neutral, publicly owned research organization. As a K1 COMET Competence Centre, we are committed to both scientific excellence and maximum output for our more than 150 industry partners.
